I started to work with Ayush shortly before my 51st birthday. My biggest concern was my fear when picking my granddaughter up off the floor or carrying her up and down stairs. I had issues with my shoulders and knees and was worried that I would stumble or something would give out while she was in my arms. Ayush performed a mobility assessment with me and started my work outs off slowly to build and strengthen problem areas. As my strength and mobility increased, Ayush challenged me with progressively more difficult moves. What I appreciated the most about working with Ayush was his attention to detail. He would demonstrate every new exercise while clearly explaining what I need to be concentrating on and he would not hesitate to demonstrate it as often as needed until he was confident that I had it. While training, Ayush would keep a close watch on proper form to ensure I kept injury free and received maximum results. His constant and enthusiastic encouragement prompted me to push harder and challenge myself further. In the three years I have been working with Ayush, l have accomplished things I never thought possible. I now have a grandson added to my life and I never worried while carrying him up or down the stairs. I have seen my strength, my endurance and my mobility increase far beyond expectations.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Scott for almost 3 months. From our initial sessions which included a detailed physical assessment, Scott has shown tremendous professionalism. Throughout subsequent sessions, he has created and revised a fitness program which addresses my challenges, my preferred approach to exercise and my goals. Recently, he has started making recommendations in between our sessions to help keep me on track. He has found the ideal balance between motivating, encouraging and pushing me beyond my comfort zone, and before my “breaking” point. This has been tremendously helpful and helping support my fitness regimen and goals.
I highly recommend Chris Munro and his nutrition program. Over the 12 weeks of doing the program I lost 16 pounds and saw fat disappear from sites on my body that no amount of weight loss has ever shifted before. Chris was extremely knowledgable, professional and supportive the entire time. in addition, he is very personable and seemed to have endless patience. Thank you Chris!
I have been seeing Scott Symonds who is a registered physiotherapist working out of the Leslie Body and Soul for a couple of years and l have referred friends to him. He is quite honestly amazing. He is very good at figuring out what is going on where other physios and allied professionals have failed. He is incredibly good at developing a treatment plan and tenacious in his commitment to really making a difference. The fact that he works out of Body and Soul means that, when appropriate, you can use the equipment and space there to complement his hands on treatment. Scott is charming , personable, and professional. Mostly I am grateful for the enormous improvement in my physical health and his commitment to seeing my full recovery.
I have been working out with Norm at Body and Soul for almost 6 years. I was looking for a way to get active and after my assessment with Norm I knew that I would benefit from this personal trainer. I also had some chronic issues with my neck and back. Norm designed workouts for me that accommodated my issues but kept me progressing. In 2013 I had a motor vehicle accident that set me back. When I was ready to get back to the gym, Norm did a better assessment of my status than the physiotherapist that I had been seeing previously. Now, I am in much better shape than I have been since the accident!
Asad kicks my butt in the best way possible. The great thing about him is that he makes working out fun as hell. There hasn’t been a single session where we weren’t cracking jokes and having a good time. But the BEST thing about him is that he really cares about your goals and he pushes you to be a better version of yourself. I once made the mistake of telling him that my program felt too easy. I have never regretted saying anything so much in my life, because the next day I came in and was sweating buckets within the first 6 minutes. He’s the guy you LOVE to hate. The one you can’t wait to swear at under your breath as he’s adding more weights to your trap bar, not to ruin your life (as you most likely will be thinking in that moment), but because he knows you can do better. The one that encourages you to push harder and be stronger. The one that makes you go for that last dreadful lunge even as your legs are collapsing under you, because he refuses to let you give up on yourself like that. He’s not the trainer you need, he’s the trainer you deserve. So he’ll kick your ass. Because he knows you can take it. He’s a vigilant mentor, a faithful spotter. A great trainer.
I’ve been training with Asad at Body + Soul for about 6 months now. I’m a 65 year old woman who’s had a quadruple bypass. I decided to get into strength training because I want to be strong as l age. I’m NOT going to be the geriatric person who ends up in a facility because I’ve fallen or can’t get off the toilet! I couldn’t do one squat when I started and now I do three sets with a 20 lb. kettlebell. And I’m signed up for the 40 km Cancer walk in September. I love feeling strong and capable, and Asad makes it fun as well! He’s knowledgeable, encouraging and attentive. The earlier you start, the better, but it’s good to know it’s never too late! Honest!
I have been training with Asad for slightly over 4 months now. Asad pushes you to test your own limits; with him it is all about progress. Apart from the obvious good results I have noticed working with Asad has helped me be more disciplined and focus. Asad does not just get the workouts done, I think he makes you invest every ounce of your energy in it. I have been training at Body & Soul for over a year now and I love the energy of this place. I guess they could work on their music but when I workout by myself I prefer my own music. If you are looking to get away to a place where you can break a sweat from your busy life and work on your fitness every day Asad is your man and Body + Soul is the perfect gym.
Ayush knows the body - it’s processes and limitations - better than any trainer I’ve had. He successfully redesigned his training program to help me work through several self-inflicted injuries and kept me going when I wanted to back off. Besides being very hardworking (and making me work hard) he’s also funny and interesting to talk with. l look forward to every session with him. Thanks Ayush!
