The Body + Soul Fitness Personal Training Certification is designed by fitness professionals for fitness professionals. Since 2001, we’ve taught our team of trainers how to deliver custom, science-backed programs that achieve results.

How it Works
- Start with 16 hours of online education
- Learn and practice during 4 days of in-person training, over two weekends
- Demonstrate your knowledge of intakes and assessments in a practical exam
- Design a program using everything you’ve learned in a case study exam

Intake
Understand how to use an in-depth intake form to gather valuable information about the client pertaining to their medical and exercise history, goals, lifestyle and more.
Assessment
Learn how to conduct an in-depth fitness and lifestyle assessment. This assessment will give you all the information you will need to build your client a highly effective, individualized program.
Warm Up and Cooldown
Learn the proper methods and sequence of how to optimally prepare a client for their training session. Make your warmups and cooldowns individualized and efficient down to the minute.
Energy System Training
Understand how to assess and improve a client’s cardiovascular endurance. Also learn how to combine it with their strength training to maximize effectiveness and recovery.
Coaching and Cueing
Learn how to safely and effectively coach and cue your clients through the exercises in their program. Understand how to troubleshoot on the spot to fix common movement faults.
Strength Training Programming
Learn the basics around training splits, periodization, training variables, exercise selection and more. Learn how to write a perfect program for your client.
Abdominal Training
Understand how to program a client’s abdominal training based off multiple assessments. Learn how to sequence their abdominal training to maximize their results and minimize chance of pain or injury.
