- Adequate supervision
- Effective scaled lifting and progression of exercises
Remember to keep these points in mind:
- The need for individualization
- Muscular strength development should be a priority at all stages of development
- In the early stages of development, strength, foundational movement skills, speed and agility should be the primary focus
- Once adolescence is reached, physical qualities such as sport-specific skills, power and hypertrophy become important
